Pierre-Eugene-Emile Hebert (French, 1828-1893). Bronze sculpture depicting the Greek sea goddess, Thetis, ca. 1890. She is shown with a shield, seated atop a column, fastening armor to her shins. Throughout the sculpture there is tremendous detail, including her intricately carved hairline and sprawling robe. There are also horses and scenes of battle represented along the borders of the shield. Signed along the base of the bronze.

Condition: There are no bends, breaks, losses, or restorations. Some patination along the polished edges of the bronze base. Light wear to the underside of the wooden base. There are four felt tabs affixed to the underside of the wooden base.
