Pair of 19th century American School oil on canvas portrait paintings. The portrait of the woman with inscription along the verso reading "Louis Seuff, nee. Fischer, " "Born Feb. 2, 1774"; the painting of the man with inscription reading "Christ Seuff, " "Born March 16, 1761." Both paintings inscribed "Painted from life 1841 by H.L. Hoevemeyer" along the verso.

Condition: Heavy toning to the varnish, craquelure, and fading to the painting consistent with age. Some chips and scuffs, especially along the edges.
