17th century Portuguese oil on canvas painting depicting the resurrection of Christ.
Provenance: Private Minnesota Collection since 1993.
Sight; height: 31 1/2 in x width: 21 1/2 in. Framed; height: 34 in x width: 24 in x depth: 1 1/4 in.
Condition: The painting is discolored and darkened. The surface is not stable and there is heavy craquelure throughout. There are heavy losses throughout, especially along the edges. There is inpainting and repairs to the canvas, in particular along the extreme edges of the canvas and the right lower quadrant. There may be further restorations but a thick varnish makes it difficult to discern possible older restorations. The canvas has been relined. Wear to the frame.
