Chinese export armorial porcelain plate, 18th century. Octagonal plate decorated in the famille rose palette, with rims adorned with floral sprays within gilt spearhead borders, centered with the Arms of Meares with the motto "OMNIA FORTUNAE COMMITTO" (I commit all things to fortune). Previous exhibit of the Dallas Museum of Fine Arts.
6.25" diameter and 8.75" diameter.
Condition: Wear includes surface yellowing/discoloration and fading of the overglaze in places. Also included is an antique Chinese famille rose octagonal soup dish with gilt spearhead border and floral sprays. Similar yellowing and discoloration to the dish as well as repaired cracks.
