This is a scene from a Matsuri Festival. The group on the left showing a typical Matsuri dance move with an exaggerated seriousness while the two men on the right are checking a list of performers. The exaggerated movement and expression are typical of Toba-e humor, emphasizing the absurdity and entertainment value of the action. The three performers display attractively painted costumes and humorously serious expressions as the dance their way off the left side of the paper.
