Taxidermied shoulder mount of a blue wildebeest, also known as a brindled gnu, common wildebeest, or white-bearded gnu. Collected July 20, 1973 in Luengue-Luiana, Angola, Africa. Possibly a record book specimen.
(Wildbeest) Height: 30 in x width: 24 in x depth: 28 in. (Horns) Length: 18 in.
Condition: There is a tear that extends from between the wildebeest’s horns approximately 17 inches along the crest of the animal’s neck. Small vertical tear along the lower lip of the mouth. The horns appear to be separating from the body. Small, scattered losses to the fur. Shedding to the fur. Dust gathered along recessed areas.
