This lot consists of 3 desk sets or pen holders created using found and recovered artifacts from the Berry Home and other Lincoln-related sites, a book which touches on the Berry Home written by an archaeologist involved with much of the excavation of the site, a candle holder fashioned from the a remnant of a fence post, a rolled print of the Onstott Cooper
Shop at Lincoln’s New Salem, and a history of the Berry Family written by William Elwood Berry.
– House at Rock Creek pen holder includes stoneware pieces from field where house stood, limestone from the foundation of the house, piece of original oak wood cut from the ceiling beams, original prairie grass from 1825 from the mud and grass insulation, a piece of original window glass from the Berry Home, twigs and bark from a sycamore tree currently standing in the yard of the Lincoln family home, and more.
– Limestone pen holder features limestone from the foundation of the Berry Home and other small decorative collectables.
– Wood base desk piece features a piece of stone or brick from the Berry Home
