These were known in the nineteenth century as "les planches populaires" (popular boards) or broadsides. Broadsides were an essential medium for mass communication in the 19th century, reflecting the social, political, and cultural dynamics of the time. Their legacy can be seen in modern forms of mass media and popular print culture.

Produced from wood engravings. Matted but only attached to backing at the corners. No acid burn. 5 x 4 panel, 20 images.
