Japanese Meiji era porcelain dish featuring two peacocks surrounded by lush floral motifs and green foliage along the surface. With a six character iron red underglaze inscription along the underside.
Height: 1 in x diameter: 6 3/4 in.
Condition: There are no breaks, cracks, or signs of restoration. There are losses to the pigment along the surface. Minute losses to the gilt, primarily along the extreme edges. There are scattered firing flaws throughout, particularly along the underside. Accretions gathered along the surface, including evidence of past adhesive residue. Light wear to the foot rim.
