Pair of porcelain figurines designed by Franz Anton Bustelli (1723-1763), for the Nymphenburg Porcelain Manufactory, Munich, Germany. Figurines depicting a man and a woman from the Commedia dell’Arte series produced in a white Blanc de Chine finish.
(Male) height: 7 1/2 in x width: 3 1/4 in x depth: 4 in. (Female) height: 8 in x width: 4 1/4 in x depth: 4 in.
Condition: To the male there are no major breaks, cracks, or losses. To the female there are losses to the fingers along both hands. To the female there is an illegible ink inscribed label affixed along the base. To each there are minute chips along the base. There is dust and debris gathered along the recessed edges. There are small accretions gathered along the surface, primarily along the back of the woman’s dress and back of the man’s coat.
