Group of two Japanese woodblock prints, 19th century. Including: one print depicting to noble or elegant ladies in an interior scene; one Utagawa Kunisada/Toyokuni III (Japanese, 1786-1865) print depicting a man in elaborate robes beside a figure with exaggerated expression.
(Each) Height: 18 in x width: 13 1/2 in x depth: 1 in.
Condition: Both prints are deeply toned. There are small losses, areas of fritting, and chips along the extreme edges of each sheet, more so to the print depicting the two male figures. To the same print, there is a loss measuring approximately two inches in height and one inch in width along the lower right quadrant; there are several deep creases and tears radiating from the loss. Each sheet is floated in frame atop an acidic mat; the print depicting two males is laid to an additional sheet. Some wear to the frames, including scuffs and scratches along the extreme edges. Not inspected out of frames.
