Native Alaskan Yupik lidded woven basket, 20th century. Of coiled form depicting stepped geometric motifs, possibly executed in taperrnaq or taperrnat grass (beach wildrye). Surmounted by a conical lid.
Height: 10 in x diameter: 9 in.
Condition: There are breaks to the caning along the rim of the lid and basket as well as to the finial. Some brittleness to the fibers.
