American Optical Company, United States. Antique optometrist spectacle trial lens set featuring a wide variety of rounded glass trial lenses and a pair of trial frame glasses housed in a velvet-lined traveling case. "AO" manufacturer’s mark along the front of the trial frame.
(Case) Height: 3 1/2 in x width: 19 3/4 in x depth: 9 1/2 in.
Condition: The set lacks some lenses. There are no cracks to the lenses. To one of the lenses, there is a small chip along the outer edge. To some of the metal hardware, there are areas of tarnishing or verdigris patination. To the trial frame, there are no obvious breaks or losses. Some wear to the travel case, including small chips, brittleness to the leather, and dander collected throughout the velvet interior. Split forming in the wood along the top of the case.
