Excavated Pattern 1826 US eagle breast plate. Brass face with lead fill. Recovered along Fairfield Road at Gettysburg by noted collector Ken Bream. Includes provenance document from The Horse Soldier Fine Military Antiques. Includes solid wood display box with sliding glass front panel. Plate is not attached to display case.
Plate: 2.5" Diameter. Display case: 3"H x 14.5"W x 7.5"L.
Condition: Breast plate is slightly bent. Lead fill is intact but with some pitting and rust. Both back hooks are present but are rusty. Other general wear consistent with excavated item of the time period. Light wear to display case.
