Hand-made by Bill Hewitt from remnants of Civil War Witness trees at Gettysburg – trees that were alive at the time of the Civil War. The various pieces of wood used in this piece are labeled by the tree/location where the tree stood at the time of the Civil War, most of which come from the area around the Battle of Gettysburg. Also included is information about the artist and the specific trees which were used to craft this piece.
