Likely upper Austria or Southern Germany (Swabia, Bavaria), ca. 1800-1850. Close-fitting woman’s cap richly embroidered with metallic threads and sequins in floral and scroll motifs. Structured in form with dome-shaped crown and rounded base. Lined in fine plain-woven silk or linen. Stitching is hand-executed with some seams hidden. Likely worn by a married woman as part of a formal "Tracht" ensemble for church or festival days. A fine example of a "Goldhaube" tradition. Silk exterior with gold metallic thread embroidery, sequins, silk or linen lining. For use in festive or court dress or regional ceremonial wear.

Condition: Some wear, losses to embroidery and fabric, particularily at edges. Some loose sequins detached but included.
