Group of five Chinese scrolls depicting mountainous or forested landscapes. Including three ink and watercolor on silk and paper, one print mounted to a scroll, and one landscape executed in silk threadwork or embroidery.
Length ranges from 35 in to 72 in; width ranges from 8 1/2 in to 20 3/4 in.
Condition: Wear throughout commensurate with age and material. Some deep creases and handling marks. Undulation consistent with being rolled. There is loss to the right edge of the backing to the print, as well as several large tears. There are scattered areas of soiling and moisture exposure throughout, but especially to the versos of the scrolls. The scrolls are toned. Some wear along the extreme edges including small tears, handling marks, and frits to the backings. Some tears and signs of wear along the extreme upper and lower edges, where the scrolls wrap around the rods.
