Set of 27 Japanese Satsuma tea ware including eight teacups, eight saucers, eight small plates, one teapot, one creamer, and one sugar bowl. Featuring intricate hand-painted chrysanthemums on a cream-colored porcelain body; gilt accents along the rims, handles, and finials. Each with a paper label along the underside, possibly signed.

Condition: There is crazing to the glaze. Some areas of lightly darkened discoloration to the glaze. There are minute to small-sized chips, primarily along the rims and footrims. To one of the teacups, there is a moderate chip along the rim, corresponding to small losses to the glaze along the interior of the rim. Along the rim of the teapot, there is a hairline crack that extends downward approximately 1 inch towards the spout. There is a moderate chip along the rim of the teapot’s lid which has been painted over. There is a minute crack along the interior rim of the creamer; possibly a linear firing flaw. There are accretions along the interior rim and spout of the creamer, as well as the underside of the lid’s rim, which fluoresce under UV light. Light debris gathered along the interior of the sugar bowl. Light wear to the gilt and glaze. Light wear to the undersides.
