Antonio Rivera (Mexican, 20th century). Vintage folk art Tlaquepaque style "petatillo" tourist pottery serving platter and lidded bean crock or casserole pot vessel, ca. 1930s-1950s. The platter depicting a peacock or peafowl amid profuse floral motifs against an intricately cross-hatched ground; the lidded crock with similar vibrant floral patterns. The plate signed along the underside.
(Plate) height: 1 in x diameter: 11 1/2 in. (Pot) height: 4 1/2 in x width: 9 1/2 in x depth: 7 in.
Condition: There are no major chips, losses, or repairs. There is a hairline crack along the base of the handle, possibly from firing. Some losses to the glossy glaze throughout, especially along the upper rim of the pot and the undersides of both items.
